Tying the Half-Windsor knot |
The medium knot, triangular, half the size of the Windsor, works best with wider to moderate width ties of light to medium fabrics and moderate to regular spread collars. Uses more tie in the knotting process than the Four-in-Hand, but less than the Windsor. |

Step 1: Situate the tie so that the fuller end (A) is longer than the thinner end (B) and cross A over B.
| | |
Step 2: Bring A around and behind B.
| | |
Step 3: Bring A up. |
|
| | |
Step 4: Pull A through the space between the collar and the tie.
| | |
Step 5: Bring A around front, over B from left to right.
| | |
Step 6: Bring A behind and up through the loop between the collar and the tie.
| | |
Step 7: Bring A down through the knot in front.
| | |
Step 8:
Using both hands, tighten the knot and draw the knot up to the collar.
