Tying the Bow tie

Bow Tie for casual to formal attire, available in numerous shapes and fabrics in clip-ons to self-tied styles. The wide butterfly bows work best with longer collars, while the narrower models accommodate buttondown and smaller collar syles. Most people find the bow tie the most challenging knot to tie, but really it is just like tying your shoes.

Step1:
Place the bow tie around your neck, situating it so that one end is longer (A) than the other end (B)
.

Step2:
Cross A over B.

Step3:
Bring A up and under the loop formed between the shirt collar and bowtie.

Step4:
Now double B over itself to form the front base loop of the tie.

Step5:
Loop A over the center of the loop you just formed.

Step6:
Holding everything in place, double A back on itself and poke it through the loop behind the tie.

Step7:
Adjust the tie by tugging at the ends of it and straightening the center knot.
